About the cans…

The Useless Cans are a gypsy swing folk punk band formed in the Capital Region of New York. The Useless Cans are: Julia Posin on washboard, kazoo, and vocals, the Dylan Perrillo on big stand up Bass and Vocals, and Bobby Davis on resonator guitar and vocals. Their repertoire of old timey swing favorites, traditional Russian celebration tunes, and driving original music have been entertaining fans in the Northeast US since 2016. Everywhere they go they bring their infectious energy and leave fans wanting more. No show is ever the same. From house shows to large stages they play for the crowd they are tasked with entertaining. They draw on diverse influences from swing greats like Django Reinhardt and Cab Calloway to raucous bands like The Doors and Jimi Hendrix. They are not afraid to step into other genres like bluegrass and the underground DIY culture of Folk Punk. Since their inception, they have been developing a set of original music to inspire the masses to reject the social injustices that plague the world today. They hope to record their first full length album in late 2018 or 2019. Until then, stop by one of their shows and pick up one of their hand made CDs that they make before each show.
